Megan and Daniel

Whoa! We got such great response from our interview with Daniel Tepper ! Thank you for listening to it! We know how important it is to feel like you know the cast members onstage - it's a special feeling that we try to create every time we go onstage. And the beauty of social media and our blog is that we can create that relationship with you weeks before the show starts!

This week we'd like to introduce you to Megan Reilly. Daniel Tepper got her on the phone and asked her a few questions. We think you'll find a few surprising answers (wait, she is part of another  improv group that does what?)

When final casting comes up for our next few month's of tours, we'll let you know when you'll see Megan and Daniel.

Who else would you like to see interviewed? Leave us a comment below!

Meet Two of Our Newest Members!

Broadway's Next Hit Musical has been touring extensively. More shows means more tours and more tours means more cast members. Since you are going to be seeing them onstage in the next few weeks as the touring season keeps on going, we want to make sure you have a chance to get to know one another.

And seeing as they're newbies, we put the work on them. (At one point they called for an edit, nah, we just left it in to keep it real)

Matt Giroveanu's bread and butter comes from voice overs, so it's no surprise that when tasked with the job of interviewing his fellow freshman member he recorded it, radio-style. It made for a great interview that we posted to Sound Cloud.

Here Matt interviews Daniel Tepper about joining the show, whether or not babies listen to lyrics, and what goes great with crackers.

Daniel Tepper and Matt Giroveanu will be performing their first show with Broadway's Next Hit Musical in Bloomington, IL on Thursday April 16th and in Ottumwa, IA on April 17th. Tickets and information.

How Do We Get to You?

Our Marquis Outside of the Criterion Theatre in Medford, OR
We usually talk to the audience after our shows. Mostly this is an excuse to take selfies with them. But often times we are asked about how we actually get to that theatre on that night. So here's a little behind-the-scenes look at how we get to your town.

Probably the quickest answer is: we have a booking agent. Baylin Artists Management has represented us for a few years now.  Marc Baylin and his team have relationships with venues throughout the country and they often are matchmaking between our show and your venue.

Here's what we don't do:

The cast of Broadway's Next Hit Musical doesn't call random venues to perform.
There are so many great theaters throughout this country and there is no way that we would have the time to contact them. Also, that might be creepy.

Here's something you may not know about:

Once a year in New York City there is a conference for the Association of Performing Arts Presenters. Those are the people from your town who book talent that is coming to your local venue. It's those people who check out Broadway's Next Hit Musical and decide that it's a good fit for your community.

We usually have a big fancy show for both APAP members and our favorite audience members. It's a big deal. We go all out! We put on our best dresses and tuxedos; we give out a Phony award. Oh, wait, that's our show. Anyway, it's a big night.

So those presenters see Broadway's Next Hit Musical and then contact our booking agent so we can come to you. Shows are usually booked about six months ahead of time -  we are now finding out about bookings for Spring of 2016.

As the performance date gets closer your venue will start publicizing it, and we'll start reaching out to you via social media to get information about your town to create one-of-a-kind, personalized experiences for each town. We book travel. We travel. We do your show!

Your Awards Night

If you've been following us on Instagram, you'll know that we have been doing quite a few corporate events. They usually seem pretty fancy and glamorous with big stages, elaborate sets, and of course - us! But what are we doing there? Is it like the touring show? What is going on exactly?
(l-r)Eric March, Annie Schiffmann, Rob Schiffmann, John Cameron Telfer,
and Deb Rabbai at a recent corporate event.

Here is what happens on many of our "corporate gigs." (That's the official BNHM term for them)

It should be said that we perform at many kinds of corporate meetings, and you can find out more on our website. But we'll dive a little deeper and chat about awards nights since this is the world we've been in recently.  It makes sense: we create hundreds of (spoof) awards nights every year, so who knows how to make awards shows fun better than we do?

Many times company awards dinners lack something. There is lots of clapping and photos being taken. Usually everyone's all dressed up and the food is great. But for the audience who isn't winning an award it's kind of like attending a baby shower.  Someone else goes home with all of the good stuff and you're just there to watch them open it.

We like to add our own flair and pizzazz to award ceremonies so that everyone in the room - the winners, the attendees, and the executives have a great night out. We throw in one liners to nominee lists, we sing songs about the winners. We take the energy of the room and crank it up a few notches.

Just like we do with our traveling show, we research the company ahead of time to understand what is in the zeitgeist. What are employees talking about? What's the company culture? Who are the big personalities? What are the buzzwords that everyone is using? We've learned more than you'd think about insurance sales, general contracting, and brewing beer this way. We play with the fun personalities, throw around the buzzwords that everyone uses, and reference memorable moments from the past year.

So imagine that as you're going through the awards night for your company at that moment when you feel the audience is more focused on their dessert than the stage - the cast of Broadway's Next H!t Musical brings the fishbowl out and sings a song based on the suggestions from the crowd. Instant adrenaline shot for the room!

Think we would give your awards night the panache the winners deserve? Contact Rob Schiffmann the co-artistic director/producer at 917.478.5622 to find out more.

See you at YOUR big night!
